【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulindeterminingtherelativeanti-swellingefficiencyofvariouswater-repellentformulationswhenappliedtowood.Itistheinitialmeansofestimatingtheabilityofwater-repellenttreatedwoodtoperformsatisfactorilywhenexposedtoliquidwaterenvironments.Theswellingdifferencesofuntreatedwoodspecieswhensubjectedtowaterimmersioncanalsobedeterminedbythistestmethod.Thismethodisabasicscreeningtestandthusprovidesaninitialdeterminationoftheanti-swellingefficiencyofwaterrepellents.Itisaqualitativemethoddesignedtoprovideareproduciblemeansofestablishing:(1)theanti-swellingefficiencyofwater-repellentformulations,and(2)therelativeswellingofuntreatedwoodspecieswhenbothareexposedtoliquidwaterenvironments.1.1Thistestmethodisdesignedtoevaluatetheeffectivenessofwater-repellentcompositionsforretardingdimensionalchangesincoatedwoodsubmergedinwater.Itcanalsobeusedtomeasurethedifferentialswellingofuntreatedwoodwhenexposedtoliquidwaterenvironments.Thecompositionstestedaredesignedtobemixeduntiluniformandappliedbybrush,roller,diporspraytoanexteriorwoodsurface.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
