【摘要】:ThisPublishedDocumentprovidesguidanceonthesafeuseofmachinerysuppliedpriortotheSupplyofMachinery(Safety)Regulations1992[3](normallymachinessuppliedbefore1995).Italsoprovidesguidanceforuserson:—machinerydesignedtoandmanufacturedinaccordancewithharmonizedEuropeanmachinerysafetystandardsinsofarasitisnecessary,whenfollowingtheinstructionssuppliedforuse;and—basicprinciplesofsafeguarding,withreferencetocurrentharmonizedEuropeanmachinerysafetystandards.Itisintendedthatthisguidancecanbeappliedtoanyparticularmachineryduringitsmodification,refurbishment,upgradingorchangeofuseinordertosatisfytheProvisionandUseofWorkEquipmentRegulations1998[2].SeealsotheapprovedcodeofpracticeSafeuseofworkequipment[4].Howeversignificantmodification,refurbishment,upgradingorchangeofusetoexistingmachinerythatresultsin,forexamplechangesofthemeasuresusedtocontrolahazard(s)ortheintroductionofanewhazard(s),canmakeitnecessarytosatisfyrelevantrequirementsfromtheSupplyofMachinery(Safety)Regulations1992[3]inparticularSchedule3.NOTE1PD5304isnotintendedtobeusedasanalternativetothecurrentharmonizedEuropeanmachinerysafetystandardsformachinerysuppliedinaccordancewiththeSupplyofMachinery(Safety)Regulations1992[3].NOTE2AttentionisdrawntotheSupplyofMachinery(Safety)Regulations1992[3]formachinerywhichhasbeensubjecttosignificantmodification,refurbishment,upgradingorchangeofuseandisintendedtobemadeavailableforsupplytoathirdparty.
